BBC : The British Brainwashing Corporation

Why should anyone pay a licence fee while the last vestiges of intelligence and integrity are being stripped from schedules to provide extra funding for celebrity trash and pernicious brain-rotting garbage ?

Why should anyone pay a licence fee when BBC News has all but abandoned analytical journalism, as well as its much-vaunted ”impartiality”, to become little more than the propaganda arm of the neoliberal establishment and its tedious and hypocritical ”political correctness” agenda ?

Why should we pay a licence fee when It’s apparent that we are viewed as successfully lobotomised sheep, or rather as obedient slaves to be distracted, propagandised, intellectually emasculated, neutralised and pacified ?

Red Marilyn

Marilyn Monroe was no ‘dumb blonde’. She was an avid reader with an extensive personal library, and embraced radical left-wing politics throughout her short life, which was terminated by agents of the State when she threatened to expose secrets she had learned through her affairs with the Kennedy brothers.

In 1960, she became a founding member of the Hollywood branch of the Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy; and was elected as an alternate delegate to the state’s Democratic caucus. She did not hide her pro-Castro views on Cuba, or her support for the then-burgeoning civil rights movement.

Fifty years after her death in August 1962,  files documenting the FBI’s close scrutiny of Marilyn Monroe were finally released. The files reveal that she was the target of intense FBI surveillance, especially in the months prior to her untimely death, because of her close association with communist activists and militant trade unionists. Her open contempt for the anti-communist witch-hunt under McCarthyism, which destroyed the careers of many of her contemporaries in the Hollywood film industry, had also made her a target.

The Spider’s Web : Britain’s Second Empire (Film)

Anyone who argues that there’s ”not enough money” for universal education, healthcare, social welfare and aid programmes is clearly either not paying enough attention, or a shameless liar.

At least £500 billion in corporate tax is dodged globally each year by multinational corporations – enough to pay the UN’s total humanitarian aid budget 20 times over every year .

And the UK with its corporate tax haven network is by far the world’s greatest enabler of corporate tax avoidance. Up to a half of global offshore wealth is hidden in British jurisdictions.

Corporate tax havens represent one of the greatest scams in human history. They are a parasitic feature of a parasitic system, and the UK is very much the bloodsucker’s head.

At the demise of Empire, City of London financial interests created a web of secrecy jurisdictions that captured wealth from across the globe and hid it in a web of offshore islands. Today, up to half of global offshore wealth is hidden in British jurisdictions and Britain and its dependencies are the largest global players in the world of international finance.

The Spider’s Web was written, directed and produced by Michael Oswald,

The Occupation of the American Mind

Narrated by Roger Waters, this film explores how the Israeli government, the U.S. government, and the pro-Israel lobby have joined forces to shape media coverage about Palestine in Israel’s favour.

”A superb documentary that makes a devastatingly persuasive case that the U.S. public is being systematically subjected to disinformation from its media on the Israel-Palestine conflict. For audiences who have relied on U.S. television and the press, the reality of Palestinian life under Israeli occupation shown in this film is likely to be deeply shocking.” ~ Jonathan Cook

”Not only land, but also minds can be colonized. The brilliance of this documentary is that it manages to tell the story of both forms of colonization simultaneously. The first story reveals how Palestinian land was colonized and how the Palestinian people have been struggling for self-determination ever since. The second story uncovers how the American media has colonized the minds of its audiences and inverted the concrete relations of subjugation by transforming Israelis into victims and Palestinians into oppressors. The Occupation of the American Mind is a must see for anyone who is against colonization.” ~ Neve Gordon, Professor of Politics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel

Despite superlative reviews, ‘The Occupation of the American Mind’ has been virtually ignored by mainstream media and all major Western film festivals.

israel is a terrorist state

At least 55 protesters (including six children) were killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Monday, and more than 2,200 injured. All of them were unarmed, and the majority were well over a hundred yards from the ‘border’ fence.

Amnesty reports that many injuries are to the head and chest – over 500 wounded with live ammunition.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that IDF snipers also directly targeted emergency services and journalists.

BBC 6 o’clock news on Monday devoted 50 seconds to Gaza, carefully avoiding the use of the word ”massacre” — and 5 minutes to the Royal Wedding dress.

Since then, the BBC and other western media outlets have dutifully regurgitated Israeli propaganda. They write of “clashes” at the “border”,  as if Palestinians had invaded Israel, and that Israel was merely defending itself from a siege. No mention of the wall, or the decade-long Israeli blockade which has created a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

And no mention either of International Law – that Israel is occupying Palestinian land illegally.

As the occupier and aggressor, Israel does not  have the right to ”self-defence’’  –  but the Palestinian people do  have a right to resistance in response to illegal occupation.

None of this was mentioned in the BBC’s reports.

Media manipulation is far more efficient today than it was in Nazi Germany. We are now routinely fed lies by ”public service” broadcasters, who exploit the misconception that they impartially provide all the information we need. Tragically, this assumption of integrity too often diverts people from even looking for the truth.

We are now seen as successfully lobotomised sheep – slaves to be distracted, intellectually emasculated, neutralised and pacified.

BBC : War is Peace. Ignorance is Strength.

In an interview with Emily Thornberry yesterday the BBC’s supposedly ”impartial” Justin Webb casually remarked ”We all know Iran is a hostile, aggressive nation” – this even though that country hasn’t waged an aggressive war in centuries.

Yet on the same programme, nothing of the kind is said to Mark Regev about Israel, which has been illegally occupying and oppressing another people for decades. It’s also apparently quite acceptable – and unremarkable – that Israel, along with the US, the UK and France, bombs Syria in flagrant violation of international law.

While Iran is being routinely demonized at every opportunity, the brutal warmongering Saudi regime remains “our important ally”.

And of course, any criticism whatsoever of Israel is necessarily “anti-semitic”.

Quite frankly, the BBC is now beyond Orwellian….

Age of Decadence

Legalised fraud, bail-outs, and plutocracy.

Poverty, apathy, and celebrity chefs :

FOUR HORSEMEN  is an outstanding documentary film analysing our critically sick Age of Decadence.

As everybody knows – or should know –  the divide between the super-rich and the rest has widened each year since the last financial crisis.

But this disconnection is about much more than just money.

The rich are in the process of purposefully detaching themselves – even fencing themselves off – from the everyday struggles facing millions of their fellow citizens. Instead of recognizing the urgency of the current situation. and possibly saving themselves by contributing to solutions that benefit society as a whole, their focus has instead shifted towards a hedonistic indulgence in the present, and the relentless expansion of their own luxury and extravagance.

This futile, hubristic, self-centered and amoral ethos has emerged with tragic regularity throughout history – and most typically, always when decadent empires begin to crumble.

Native American Genocide & Resistance

~VIDEO  from Media Roots / The Empire Files~

Indigenous scholar Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, author of an ‘Indigenous People’s History of The United States’, joins Abby Martin for this episode of The Empire Files to give insight on the history and present-day struggle of native peoples.

Native society, despite pervasive mainstream mythology, was rich in agriculture and was advanced to such a degree that they were appropriated by colonialists. These civilizations were turned into slaves, bought and sold on the market and taken to work in mines and forcibly displaced so they did not have their housing or food supplies. The desire of the colonial forces was to weaken and control native populations so that they could occupy and control the land, and use natives for slave labour.

Dunbar-Ortiz discusses not only the intention of colonial forces, which included killing off cultural ties and languages, but how native people have survived despite widespread terror campaigns. Armed settlers had to fight against native people in order to maintain dominance. The Plains People, for example, had to endure a “food fight” involving their buffalo. The primary goal of a food fight was to kill off the food supply of civilians so that they starved or gave in to the demands of occupying forces.

Native resistance today has taken new, creative forms—aimed at disrupting normalized dehumanization by the military establishment, sport establishment and school industries, all of which carry names and caricatures of natives which are deeply colonial and racist: from things like Tomahawk missiles to the Redskins sports team.

Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and Abby Martin break down the colonialist fabrications which have long permeated our history books and follow through with how we can join the fight to amplify native voices.
